Location: Europe preferred - Bonn (Germany), Netherlands, Belgium, other strategic locations in Europe will be considered.

In 2020, DHL Supply Chain launched a Data Analytics vision including a strong focus on operations and customer supply chain analytics. The aim of this accelerated data analytics program is to maximize the pace with which DHL Supply Chain identifies data analytics opportunities, productizes use cases and supports rolling them out at scale. As an example, in 2021 the team built a strong business case for the accelerated rollout of transport analytics, providing quick payback and high EBIT value.

Supply Chain Analytics designs and manages data products for DSC's data scientists. These data products will form the cornerstone of data analytics solutions that will be rolled out at scale.

The key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Identify, design, develop and maintain data products that can accelerate implementation of use cases in the area of DHL Supply Chain operations.
  • Develop business rules, data dictionary, data models for applications across the domain.
  • Provide ongoing support to use case owners, data owners and application Centers of Excellence (COEs) to have scalable, interoperable data products.
  • Work with stakeholders within data analytics teams and domain data owners to define and shape the data product.
  • Design, develop and document the data product, in collaboration with domain COEs, that is accessible for authorized users - example: use case developers.
  • Communicate with data governance team to ensure the data product is in accordance with organization's data standards.
  • Ensure data products are scalable, interoperable and secure yet accessible as defined by data owners.
  • Define, design and deploy data products across one or multiple domains and ensure access to users by balancing authorization requirements from data owners.
  • Monitor ongoing use of data products to help make invest/divest decisions.
  • Publish data dictionary, data catalogue, data model and other relevant assets.
  • Maintain the user stories in a prioritized backlog and effectively divide overall project goals into prioritized deliverables.

Now here's what we need from you;

  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL, SQL/PL SQL or Java or data modelling role to create large-scale solution.
  • Deep understanding of the supply chain IT landscape, including a specialization in either WMS or TMS.
  • Configuration and development knowledge in Blue Yonder, Manhattan or Oracle Transportation Management will be a strong advantage.
  • Proven record of accomplishment in translating real-life supply chain problems into models and making data accessible for data science teams.
  • Experience in managing a large number of heterogeneous and senior stakeholders
  • Experience in data modelling tools like Hackolade, Power Designer or ERWIN.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodology as either scrum master or developer.
  • Good knowledge of one or more data governance platform like Collibra, Azure Purview or Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog.
  • Master's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science or related fields
  • Demonstrable working experience in developing solutions using relational and non-relational databases, ETL tools and expert knowledge of SQL or Java or Python.
