Work at The Flower Auction

As an orderpicker at Royal FloraHolland it's your responsibility to make sure that the flowers that get sold in the morning go to the right customers.

Every morning, your day begins at 06:00 AM. You clock in and attend the daily briefing, where your team leader goes over safety and improvement points. Here you can check the screen to see when you'll finish working, which varies between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM each day. You also find out how many carts need to be processed. After that, you put on your headphones or use your terminal and hop on your electric cart. You'll hear instructions through your headphones or terminal on where to go. You follow the numbers in the hall and pick up your cart. Your task is to move the flowers and plants on the cart to the correct spots. Once that's done, you head to the final destination and place the cart there. Before leaving your spot, you scan the barcode on the floor. After all the flowers of the day have been destributed your workday is over and you can enjoy your free time.

In this role, you ensure the flowers and plants are placed in the right spots. If this position isn't filled, work will stop, carts won't be moved on time, and chaos will follow. This leads to delays and a disorganized workday. You ensure everything runs smoothly by focusing on:

• Picking up and moving carts to the correct locations.

• Scanning the barcodes on the floor to track everything properly.

• Checking if the number of flowerpots or plant pots is correct.

We provide 2 training days where the logistics process will be explained. You work during the week and have weekends off. You can choose to work 5 days a week or just 3, depending on what suits you best. The minimum number of workdays is 2 per week. If you work 5 days a week, you'll work 20-25 hours. A Certificate of Conduct (VOG) may be required as part of the selection process.

You'll begin your journey as a logistics worker at Royal FloraHolland Aalsmeer. Established in 1910, Royal FloraHolland is the world's largest flower auction. Each week, 43 million flowers and 5 million plants are sold. Luckily, there's plenty of room for all of this, as the building where you'll work is as large as 200 football fields.

Wat wij jou bieden:

• Salary: €16.04 gross per hour or an all-in salary of €17.06 gross per hour

• Weekly payment

• Full reimbursement of your public transport pass if you work more than 4 days a week

• Travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometer for journeys over 5 km one way

• Once per quarter, you'll receive a plant gift from Royal FloraHolland

• 8.33% holiday pay

Wat vragen wij van je:

• At least 18 years old

• At least 1.60 meters tall (for your safety on the work floor)

• Able to understand and speak Dutch or English well
