We are happy to announce that equensWorldline was selected by de Volksbank in the Netherlands as their infrastructure provider for Instant Payments. Earlier this year also ABN AMRO, ING and RABOBANK selected equensWorldline for Instant Payments.
quensWorldline will provide a new pan-European Instant Payments infrastructure. With Instant Payments, users are able to make payments instantly, 365 days a year, including weekends and holidays. Having the ability to transact instantly has benefits for all payment users. Consumers can easily pay bills or receive instant funds when they sell something, merchants have immediate access to the funds, resulting in a better cash flow and reduced risk for businesses.
According to the plans of the Dutch banking community, the first Instant Payments will be processed in 2019 when the full roll-out will take place so that real-time payments become a reality in the Netherlands.
